This file contains a series of about 50 images with a black background and a single red pixel in the center. Each image is 400x300 pixels, making it easy to print out on letter-sized paper . Slides for presentations, animations, screen-saver, etc. The file is free to download and use. Slides are available in Adobe Photoshop format (.psd) The images are based on the PhotoSop image editor (free edition) by Feodor Pitulko, which was used to make graphics for CD-ROMs.Author: Feodor Pitulko (Russia, 2004). The black-pixel images were created in order to recognize the existence of one's own (and social) barriers and prejudices, encouraging the viewers to reconsider their opinions about all levels of human potential. There are numerous psychological experiments with photos of black background and single pixel in the center. "Black Pixel Project" is based on computer graphics images created for video game, but it uses photos instead of images, which makes the effect stronger for viewers (the viewer does not see inverted image, but sees what he/she actually see, just with one red pixel). Figures below are used as examples how the human eye sometimes distorts reality. The Black Pixel project is spreading by itself - people who have seen these pictures on websites or friends' computers forward them worldwide. Since 2004 The Black Pixel Project has been sent over hundreds of millions of times to e-mail users all over the world. Since inception, the Black Pixel Project has been seen over 10 billion times. There are also other projects like this like 28 Days Later (film), the One (2007 film) and many others. There are many photographs with black background and one person or object. Black pixel is used as a support for political messages, critique of social media networks, etc.. http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/pool http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/pool/with/2471866193/#54867642295279670 http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=1 http://www. flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=2 http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=3 http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=4 http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=5 http://www.flickr.com/groups/BlackPixelProject/?pool=6 If you want to get updates about the project, like the official website or Facebook page, or join our email list, you can join at https://mailchi.mp/.
